Our Story
RLAY is a local company in Horsens with over 100 years of experience in the industry. A lot has happened since the company was established, but El-Tavleproduction and Electromechanical Service remain the core competencies of the company. Our competencies, knowledge, and capacity in these areas have only grown stronger and bigger over the years, as we have prioritized development in line with technology, the industry, and international standards.
FH Automation has roots dating back to 1921, when Rasmus Hansen founded the company Horsens Elektromotor - Reparation in Horsens.
In 1928, a branch was opened in Vejle. Rasmus Hansen's son, Folmer, later established Bosch Denmark.
In 1956, Rasmus Hansen passed away, and Folmer Hansen inherited the Electric Motor Company, which he merged with Bosch into one company with two branches: Horsens Elektro and Vejle Elektro.
In 1972, negotiations for Danfoss and Siemens products were obtained. This marked the beginning of wholesale sales and production of control and distribution panels. In the mid-70s, Siemens PLC controls were introduced. This was completely new in Denmark at the time.
The business area developed significantly, and in 1984 the engineering section was formed and at the same time the name was changed to FH Electric ApS.
The company is converted into a joint-stock company in 1993 under the name FH Group A/S.
In 2004, the company was split into two separate companies: FH Gruppen A/S remained a component supplier, while the repair of electric motors, production of electrical panels, and activities in the engineering department were consolidated into an independent company under the name FH Automation A/S.
As part of a generational change, CEO Ove Madsen chose in 2006 to sell FH Automation A/S to two employees - director Leif Rasmussen and department manager Lars Farsø, who started with 20 employees at their headquarters on Vejlevej in Horsens.
To strengthen activities east of the Great Belt, Arne Boldt El-Automatic ApS in Slagelse was taken over in 2010, also in connection with a generational change. This department is now located in Ringsted and primarily deals with software for installations within the utility industry.
In 2014, the facilities on Vejlevej in Horsens became too cramped, and the current headquarters of 6000 m2 on Fuglevangsvej was inaugurated. Around the same time, they entered into robotics technology and the development of specialized machinery.
Throughout the years, service and quick response to non-functioning systems have been a major focus for all employees. These services were formalized in 2020 with the creation of a service department, providing preventive maintenance and upkeep for both mechanics, controls, and software, as a core service.
At our 100th anniversary in 2021, the company employs 71 highly motivated and well-qualified employees, and looks towards a bright future with a high demand for automation in the industry. This is expected to increase, especially in relation to meeting the global climate goals.
"Our software division (FH Software), consisting of a total of 28 employees, has joined Init after more than 40 years at FH Automation.
As a result, we have chosen to focus our services solely on electrical constructions, production of electrical panels, and electrical and mechanical services to further strengthen our efforts."
We have had a major focus on re-establishing the company within one of our original core competencies: Electromechanical Service. This was made possible, among other things, by acquiring the local company Horsens Elektro Service.
Due to a major shift in competencies, services, and internal restructuring, we wanted to set a new and modern direction for the company, which is now a reality with RLAY.
